クロード＝ニコラ・ルドゥーは18世紀フランス、革命の時代に生きた建築家です。近年では彼の手によるアルケスナンの王立正塩所が世界遺産に登録されたことで広く知られるようになりましたが、建築の歴史においては、異形の建築物群をつくり出した《幻視》の建築家、いまの言葉でいうと《奇想》の建築家としてながらく扱われてきました。このサイトは、そのような奇想を単に面白がるのではなく、彼自らの言葉と18世紀という特異な時代背景に添いながら、なぜそのような奇想が生み出されたのかを探ることを目的としています。
This site contains a monologue on Claude Nicolas LEDOUX, a French architect who took an active part in the late 18th century. He has been known as a "visionary" or "revolutionary" architect by his unique works. This monologue aim not only to analyze the form of his architectural works but to reveal his architectural thought through his own words and episteme of the "Age of enlightenment".
